At Sweet Republic, our goal is to put a smile on each customer’s face. We believe that the only way to achieve this is to create the most flavorful indulgences from all-natural ingredients, handcrafted in small batches right in the store. For our artisan ice cream, we start with milk and cream from independent Arizona dairy farms, and add hand-stirred caramel, slow-roasted bananas, handmade marshmallows, fresh baked brownies and more. For our sorbets, we use ripe whole fruit, which we peel, pit and chop right in the store. We don’t just stop here – we also make all our own cookies, toppings, sauces and waffle cones from scratch – this way we know only the highest quality ingredients are used. There are no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or hydrogenated oils in any of our products – only what nature intended.
About the Owners- Before moving to Arizona to launch Sweet Republic, Helen was an East Coaster who worked in New York City and London before heading off to Sydney to attend Le Cordon Bleu. She then moved to Berkeley to work on the hot line at Eccolo, a Cal-Italian restaurant. While Jan was a West Coast girl who worked in finance in the Asian culinary capitals of Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok. Because Helen and her team handcraft all our ice cream in small batches, the selection changes regularly. We do promise 20+ flavors of ice cream and sorbet daily – both unique and classic.
